I am fascinated by the colours, textures, patterns to be found by the keen eye in old neglected buildings, machinery and other objects. Time, weather and neglect are the enzymes that transform man-made or natural materials from shiny, glossy newness to less visible but often deeper and more subtle qualities. Rust, peeling, weathered and cracked paint, moss, lichen and mould are manna to the photographer seeking such potential treasures. I used to call this junk photography, but now call such images hidden beauties. Post-processing  is the essential technique to bring alive your image to a striking piece of unusual creative art.
